How to Choose the Right Hair Texture for Your Style
With So Many Textures, Where Do You Start?
Choosing the right hair texture is one of the most important decisions when buying virgin hair. The wrong choice can mean a style that doesn’t match your natural hair, requires more maintenance than you want, or simply doesn’t suit your lifestyle. This guide breaks down every texture we carry and helps you find your perfect match.
Consider Your Natural Hair First
The best starting point is your own natural hair texture. If you’re doing a sew-in with leave-out, you’ll want a texture that blends seamlessly. If you’re wearing a full wig or closure install with no leave-out, you have more freedom to experiment.
| Your Natural Texture | Best Blending Textures |
|---|---|
| Straight / Relaxed | Silky Straight, Kinky Straight |
| Wavy (2A–2C) | Body Wave, Loose Wave, Beach Wave |
| Curly (3A–3C) | Deep Wave, Spanish Wave, Kinky Curly |
| Coily (4A–4B) | Kinky Straight, Afro Kinky, Kinky Curly |
| Tightly Coiled (4C) | Afro Kinky, Kinky Straight |

Body Wave
Soft, flowing S-waves that look effortlessly natural. One of the most universally flattering textures. Holds curls beautifully and air dries with a natural wave.

Loose Wave
Similar to body wave but with a slightly looser, more relaxed wave pattern. Very natural-looking and easy to maintain.
Best for: Casual everyday styles, natural-looking installs.
Deep Wave
Tight, defined S-waves with more texture and volume than body wave. Stunning when moisturized, and can be straightened for versatility.
Best for: Bold, voluminous styles. Great for 3A–3C natural hair blending.
Spanish Wave
A defined wave pattern between deep wave and curly. Bouncy and full with a natural-looking texture.
Best for: Textured, voluminous styles with a natural curl appearance.

Defined 3C–4A curls that blend beautifully with natural curly hair. Requires consistent moisture to maintain definition.
Best for: Natural hair blending, curly installs, protective styles.
