Winter Hair Care Tips for Extensions & Wigs

Cold weather is beautiful — but it can be brutal on your hair. If you're rocking bundles, a wig, or a closure install this winter, here's how to keep your hair looking fresh all season long.

1. Moisturize More Than Usual

Winter air is dry, and dry air means dry hair. Use a lightweight leave-in conditioner or hair oil (argan or jojoba work great) every 2–3 days to keep your extensions hydrated and prevent tangling. This is especially important for styles like our Natural Black Ponytail Extension and Brazilian Deep Wave Bundles.

2. Protect Your Edges

Hats and scarves are your best friends in winter — but they can cause friction and breakage along your edges. Line your hats with satin or silk, or wear a satin-lined bonnet underneath before putting on a beanie.

3. Avoid Going Outside with Wet Hair

This one is critical. Cold air + wet hair = breakage and matting, especially for curly and wavy textures like deep wave and body wave. Always fully dry your hair before heading out.

4. Deep Condition Weekly

Add a weekly deep conditioning treatment to your routine. Focus on the mid-lengths and ends, which tend to dry out the fastest. Leave it on for at least 20–30 minutes for best results.

5. Seal Your Ends

Apply a small amount of hair oil or butter to your ends after washing to lock in moisture and prevent split ends. This is especially important for longer installs.

6. Sleep on Satin

A satin pillowcase or bonnet reduces friction while you sleep, keeping your install looking fresh longer and reducing frizz in the morning.

Taking care of your hair in winter doesn't have to be complicated — a little extra moisture and protection goes a long way. Shop our full range of wigs, bundles, and extensions and keep your look flawless all season. 💛
